Health, Safety and Wellbeing

Welcome to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing courses.

These courses will help you improve your safety knowledge and skills to protect yourself, your children and others on the farm, creating a safe and supportive environment for all.

HSW301 Safe Work Practices

In this course, we will cover essential guidelines and techniques to promote safety and well-being in your work environment, helping you to minimise risks and protect yourself and your team.

The Safe Work Practices course is designed to teach farm workers, managers, and owners how to maintain safety on the farm. Through this course, you will learn about the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and the compliance requirements it entails, ensuring you understand how to stay safe while fulfilling your daily farm duties.

Participants will learn how to identify hazards, manage risks, and follow safety protocols effectively. The course introduces the SLAM technique (Stop, Look, Assess, Manage) as a practical tool for preventing accidents and promoting safety across all farm operations.

Additionally, you will gain knowledge about preparing for emergencies and natural disasters, as well as developing a safety-conscious mindset to assess risks and make informed decisions in critical situations. This course empowers farm workers and managers with the skills needed to ensure the farm is a safe environment for all.

HSW302 Child Safety on Farms

In this course, we will cover essential guidelines and techniques to promote safety and well-being, helping you to minimise risks and protect the younger community members on your farm.

Farms can be exciting and educational environments for children, but they also pose unique risks. This course will equip you with the tools to create a safer farm environment for children, whether they live on the farm, are visitors, or are part of a worker’s family.

This course focuses on keeping children safe on farms, combining practical knowledge with an understanding of their developmental needs and legal protections.
